While I’ll admit to some big-brother pride, this is also an object lesson about the opportunities in Division III soccer. Someday my brother will sit in a job interview, and someone will ask about soccer, and he’ll be able to talk about how hard he had to work just to get on the field at OWU. Someday he’ll be in a tough spot and need to summon a little bit of extra motivation, and he’ll have this experience to draw on. There are hundreds of players in D-III soccer in the same position he was, and I hope this provides a bit of encouragement for them.
